A warm summer breeze, drinks chilled on ice, the smell of hamburgers cooking on the grill, potato sack races and the friendly faces of family and friends-- An outdoors Family Picnic, BBQ Party or Family Reunion brings all these thoughts to mind. A casual outdoor event doesn't have to mean uninspired paper towels, plastic silverware and paper plates. Start with red and white checkered fabric for the tables. Collected small glass jars such as iced coffee jars make great table vases or glasses for lemonade. Aluminium cans with a ribbon or raffia tied around them also make darling vases to hold tiny daisys or wildflowers. Use gathered real table ware- rather than plastic. Mix and match fabric napkins can replace paper napkins to reduce the amount of garbage at the end of the day. Be sure to have a basket clearly marked on hand for used tableware and napkins to be gathered after the event. The following photo inspiration board may spark some ideas for your next Family BBQ or Picnic Event.
