This summer's favorite outdoor party theme celebrates all things Sunflower! Sunflowers make for wonderful, cheerful and inexpensive party decor. A few mason jars filled with sunflowers and tied with burlap or raffia add a wonderful rustic flair. Add some candles surrounded by sunflowers for a softly lit evening theme. Add natural touches such as long twigs, sliced wood plate chargers, burlap, raffia bows. Red gingham ribbon or table cloths can add a tough of color as well. A sunflower theme is perfect for an outdoor bridal shower, anniversary, birthday or even a casual wedding. Our photo inspiration can't help but make you smile!

Hues of purple and wine are a very popular wedding color theme this year and make for a stunning Bridal Shower theme as well. Touches of bright green and yellow round out the luxurious theme. Think hydrangea's, pansies and lilacs. See our purple passion Bridal Shower inspiration collage for some beautiful ideas.

One of the HOTTEST color theme's for the 2011 Wedding is Grey and Yellow or slate and yellow. I personally am in LOVE with this color palatte and am dreaming of a new living room in these colors. The slate grey tones with yellow accents make for a very sophisticated color combination. Cool and crisp this palatte lends itself to to easy and natural accents of daisies, lemons, daffodils, chalkboard menus and honeycombs. The collage below is provided for inspiration for the Gray and Yellow Wedding color theme. Enjoy!

One trend we’re seeing more and more on our customized shower invitations at My Good Greetings is the request for unwrapped gifts or eco-friendly gift wrapping. I always wonder if those party guests who are eco-friendly challenged stumble over this request. It may seem awkward and abrupt to bring an unwrapped toaster and toss it on the gift table. And let's face it-- gift wrap can be so pretty. There’s something very exciting about seeing a table full of beautifully wrapped presents. But at the end of the day- it really is a complete waste of paper and trees.
One solution is Furoshiki- gift wrapping with a Japanese wrapping cloth. Charissa at TheGiftedBlog.com shares some beautiful samples of this beautiful Japanese art of gift wrapping. She also offers step-by-step instructions on how to create some beautiful wrap designs. Japanese wrapping cloths can be purchased, but if they are hard to find in your area, I’m thinking a beautiful scarf or large square of fabric- edges finished- would do the trick as well. A square tablecloth might work well for a larger gift and the best part- the wrap becomes an additional present—no wrapping waste!
Namitha in India also gives a very detailed instructions and tips on her blog Ephemera Studio
